| As
a keen student of metaphysical and spiritual concepts I have
always been curious about how to translate spirituality into
our every day lives. I have observed people from different
walks of life who seem to have found a place within them that
they could reach to find an inner calm and a knowing. They
seem to display a quality that is different from most of us
They
almost always refuse to indulge in gossip. They have the ability
to state the problem to the person concerned without blaming
them feel wrong. They are willing to listen and expect to
be given respect and give respect in return. They have no
need for approval nor are they keen to take over anyone’s
problems. They might need your cooperation on a certain matter
but they are essentially self sufficient. They are open minded
and willing to listen to ideas which may not seem practical
or appropriate to the situation at hand but however interesting.
They have the courage to confront someone about what they
don’t agree with about something they have said. They
have no need to express every thought they think in their
mind. They are not necessarily sophisticated nor educated
nor even well to do. Their confidence comes from within.
Does
this seem almost impossible to achieve? Actually -NO. It is
possible and the place to start is by knowing and listening
to our thoughts and seeing how our and not out thoughts translate
into feeling and then into words and deeds. We need to do
all this with the mental atmosphere of compassion and gentleness
for ourselves fully knowing that we are doing the best we
can with the understanding and knowledge we have at the moment.
Meditation and affirmation might be useful to help us slow
down our thoughts and help us accept ourselves exactly as
we are. It is only in this place of acceptance and honesty
can we look at ourselves and see what mental patterns we have
that don’t support us. The change in our circumstances
comes when we have the courage to express out truth. |
